dc.description.abstractIn recent years, Sudan has witnessed a huge increase in construction costs, in terms of the high prices of materials used in construction and the need for a lot of labor, which led to the inability of people with limited income to own homes. With the development of technologies, Lego bricks appeared in terms of bonding, the method of reinforcement, and the amount of mortar used, in addition to many other advantages that distinguish it from other types of bricks, in terms of reducing the cost of construction, the diversity of its shapes and sizes, and the possibility of coloring it in different colors. In this research, a study was carried out on different types of bricks, especially Lego bricks, in terms of their physical properties, constituent materials, and engineering properties in terms of shape and sizes. And between other types of bricks in terms of cost, bonding methods, mortar size, and the required labor efficiency. From this comparison, we found that Lego bricks are better than other types of bricks in terms of construction cost (less than other types), implementation and construction speed, and the amount of mortar used (less than other types). The other), and one of its shortcomings is that it needs armaments and also skilled workers.
