dc.description.abstractThis research aims to make a cost comparison between two building systems used for multi-storey buildings of not high heights, one is the structural framework system and the other is the load-bearing walls system. To reach this comparison, information was collected from scientific sources and architectural drawings of the building were obtained. The ETABs program was used in the analysis, design, and use of the British Specifications for Reinforced Concrete bs8110-part1-1997. Then, the analysis and design was done for the multi-storey building with a total area of 180 and a height of 10 m with three floors, for the purpose of making a cost comparison. Quantities and estimates were calculated for the works and materials for each of the two systems according to the design outputs. It was concluded that the cost of the load-bearing wall system is less than the cost Structural structure system by 31%.
